1 能熟练运用本单元所学的词句谈论某处的物品。

2 能正确理解、朗读Cartoon time中的故事,能读懂其中的趣味之处,能在教师的指导下表演故事。

3 了解西方国家的文化差异,能说出不同国家对楼层的称呼。

PPT课件,多媒体

Teaching procedures教学过程:

Step 1 Warm up

1 Let’s guess.

T: Look at the pictures and try to guess, using the sentences below. 

2 Let’s chant

T:  We can see the whole picture now. It’s a classroom. I have a chant for it.

A.   Firstly, listen to me.

B.   Let’s try to sing together.

C.   Work in your groups. Let’s have a pk.

3 Free talk

(PPT shows the picture of a swing.)

T: Today is such a fine day with the blue sky and the white clouds. I want to go outside. I want to play on a swing.(teach the new word swing)

T: Wow, this is a swing. Is there a swing in the classroom?

Ss: No, there isn’t.

T: Is there a swing in the playground?

Ss: Yes, there is.

(PPT shows Picture 1)

T: Bobby and Sam are in the playground. Bobby wants to go and play.

Step 2 Presentation

1 Cartoon time

1)    Listen and say

(PPT shows the pictures of Bobby’s facial expressions.)

T: Look at Bobby. Is he still happy?

Ss: No.

T: Look at picture1.Bobby looks tired. Why? What’s happened? Please listen carefully, and try to repeat Bobby’s sentence.

T: Bobby says “You are so heavy(teach the new word), Sam.”

Let’s imitate it.

Ss imitate Bobby.

T: You are too heavy to push. (teach the word push)

Teacher and Ss’s acting.

Ss’s acting.

2 )Watch and choose

T: Look at picture2. Bobby is afraid(teach the new word) then. Why? Let’s watch a cartoon and make a choose.

Why is Bobby afraid?

A: Because Sam is too heavy.

B: Because the swing is too high.(teach the new word)

C: Because Bobby is ill.

(PPT shows picture 3)

T: Bobby shouts” Stop!”(teach the new word)

Acting Bobby and Sam.

Have a PK between the boys and girls.

3)    Think and write

T: At last, Bobby is totally dizzy. What do you think he will say? Please write it down on your paper. Discuss in pairs and try to fill the blanks.

4)    Read and act

A. Read after the tape

B. Read by themselves

C. Read in roles

D. Act it out

2 Culture time

1)    Talk and lead-in

(PPT shows 3 pictures and the different names inAmericaand British)

Look, this is Obama. He stands for theUSA. And this is Cameron, and he stands for British. Look at this picture. How do we call it inAmerica?

Ss say “soccer, football, gas, petrol, radio, wireless”

(PPT shows the picture of the houses on P21.)

This is the first floor. Look at the house, do you know where is it?

S: It’s in theUSA.

T: How about this one? Where is it?

S: It’s in theUK.

T: Can we say “first floor” in theUK? What can we say?

S: In theUK, this is the ground floor.(Listen and follow)

1.    Read and act the cartoon
